There’s always been a cool buzzy vibe about Byron Bay – though possibly a tad too ‘influencer’ these days as the ‘bright young things’ of our times take over from the hippie surfer laid-back Byron of yesteryear. And of course, there’s the ever present ‘influence’ of the Hems – that’s Chris Hemsworth and family by the way, who has a massive $50 million mega eco-mansion in the area, and who frequently brings his fellow Hollywood A-Lister mates to Byron. 

It’s been three years since we were last here and it certainly seems busier. More traffic, more cool places to hang, more mega mansions and, of course, more people…but the beaches here are second to none. Surely, one of the best stretches of golden sand, azure ocean and pounding surf anywhere.
