We finally made it up to FNQ after a mammoth 2,851k drive up from Sydney to Wonga Beach, slightly overshooting our final destination, Clifton Beach, but just for a few days R&R before moving in day on the 1st November. We are beyond excited!
We drove up in our little town car, a 15-year-old Suzuki Swift, which made the journey without complaint – combatting searing outback heat, dust devils, smouldering bushfires, roaring road trains and the odd bemused Emu or two. We took 7 days all up to travel up the coast, stopping at Port Macquarie, Byron Bay, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Airlie Beach, Townsville and, finally Wonga Beach.
It’s a new dawn for us. The start of a new life in the tropics.

That drag queen, who has emerged after cosmetic surgery – New Dawn. Seriously but, how excitement. Good luck for settling in. 🤗
